Anyone who already knows me from our newsletter knows that I love to snuggle up on the sofa in the evening with a hot tea, read a book, or watch one of my favorite movies. The coziest evenings are when a few cookies stand on my small table in front of the sofa right next to a glowing candle. How convenient that we now have our candle lids for storage jars in the online shop, with which I can combine my love for sweets and candlelight. But our new product is not only perfect for evening treats; our storage jars are also a good choice as decoration or storage. In this post, I want to inspire you a little and show you how you can use the candle lids and storage jars.
For the decoration ideas I show you here, you can let your creativity run free and feel free to use elements you already have at home. For example, I found dried orange slices in the Owl's Nest, which go perfectly with the pine cones and which you can easily dry yourself. What you definitely need, however, is a storage jar of your choice as well as a matching lid. In our online shop, you will find wonderful storage jars for everyday use or also for the Christmas season. Feel free to get inspired here and choose the jar that best fits your decor. Please note that the candle lids do not fit the mini storage jars.
Autumn and winter decoration
Autumn is here and brings beautiful colors that can slowly move into your home. Golden yellow, brown, and red are also perfect for the Christmas season. Accordingly, I chose the storage jar with the Christmas car, which I filled with winter elements. You can find the matching candle holder with waves in our online shop.
I chose the wonderful red rose hips, round pine cones, and dried orange slices as filling. Cinnamon sticks also fit perfectly for the Christmas season. You are welcome to bring in your own ideas here and maybe also use fir branches or nuts. The small storage jars can be nicely decorated for this.
Practical storage
The storage jar combined with the candle lid is also perfect as a useful storage helper. My dear colleague Nele had the great idea to store the candles in the storage jar. This way, the supply is immediately at hand as soon as the candle has burned down. It’s sweet to decorate the storage jar with a ribbon and dried flowers. This is also a great gift idea!
You need this for it:
- A storage jar of your choice (preferably in size 19 cm or 25 cm so the candles have enough space)
- A candle lid of your choice (I chose the smooth lid)
- Ribbon (and possibly scissors)
- Dried flowers
- Candles
Here's how to do it:
First, tie a ribbon several times around the storage jar and make a great bow. Once the ribbon is tight, you can tuck small dried flowers behind it and fill the jar with candles. Our storage jars come with a wooden lid, which you can also use as a coaster for your candle. Now you just have to find a nice spot or give the sweet gift to a dear person.
For small treats (my favorite)
Now we come to my favorite purpose: The storage jar is also perfect for small treats like your favorite Christmas cookies. Loose tea also looks great in the jar, especially if there are large blossoms inside. How cute is the candle holder with the little hearts?
