Yay! The Christmas season is here! The scent of cookies fills the air, candles create a cozy atmosphere, and the Vorfreude for the celebration grows day by day. To make the wait until Christmas even more enjoyable, we have a loving DIY idea for you: a Christmas Countdown that you can easily create yourself!
With our free printable featuring the beautiful design and the text "... days until Christmas," you can fill in the remaining time until the celebration each day and let the Vorfreude grow a little more every day. The best part: it not only looks pretty but is also super easy to implement.
What you need:
- Our free PDF printable (download here: Christmas Countdown)
- A picture frame measuring 21 x 29.7 cm for the DIN A4 size printout (also available in drugstores)
- A wipeable marker
- A printer and paper (ideally a bit thicker paper for a high-quality look)
Step-by-step instructions:
1. Download and print the motif: Click on the link to download our Christmas Countdown motif. Print it on nice paper – preferably a bit thicker so it looks good in the picture frame.
2. Prepare the picture frame: Insert the printed motif into a picture frame of your choice. A simple wooden frame or a modern glass frame fits perfectly with the Christmas design.
3. Start the countdown: Place or hang the frame in a visible spot – for example on your dresser, the dining table, or the windowsill. Write the remaining days until Christmas on the glass of the frame with a wipeable marker.
4. Update daily: Simply wipe off the number and enter the new number every morning. This way, each day begins with a small moment of Vorfreude!

Combine the Christmas Countdown with a small daily tradition: Maybe you want to enjoy a piece of chocolate from your Advent calendar each day or start a cozy ritual, like reading a Christmas story, lighting a candle, or taking a short moment to pause and consciously enjoy the Advent season.
